Mermaid III, front

I carved this mermaid from white pine at the 10th "Ridgway
Rendesvous" in Ridgway, Penns, Feb 2009. The log stood
seven feet tall, and she takes up all of that. I took on this
one to challenge myself to do a better female face, hair,
and figure. I was happy with the results, especially since
I only had three days to do this project. She was purchased
at the auction by a friend and fellow carver, Dave Lavoie
of Tennessee.
